Who We Are
Beautiful Custom Stairs is a family owned business that specializes in building custom stair systems for both newly constructed and remodeled homes, and for offices in western Washington and other parts of the United States. We serve many repeat customers and a steady clientele of contractors throughout the greater Seattle area.
Loren Dugan has an eye for detail and the mindset of a cabinet maker, for which precision is very important. He has been building fine wood products for more than thirty years. As a teenager, he began as an apprentice in a family owned cabinet shop working alongside his step father, who was a cabinet maker and stair builder. As a young man, he worked in various phases of residential construction including framing, finish work and cabinetry. Loren began building stairs in 1988 as a subcontractor for a well-known stair and mantel company formerly located in Kirkland, Washington. B. Loren Dugan Construction was incorporated in 1992. To better reflect the nature of the business and to more precisely describe what we do, we changed our name to Beautiful Custom Stairs, Inc. in 2008.
The growth and success of our company for the last twenty years is due to the work and excellent reputation of Loren Dugan. His rock-solid reputation as a master craftsman and building contractor is a result of his strong work ethic, personal integrity, attention to detail and thoughtful management of the project during the building process. Loren wants each and every stair his company builds to be like a fine piece of furniture and source of pride for the owner.
